My wife and I live on Kauai’s beautiful North Shore in the heart of Hanalei. As they say, “Lets talk story”. Paradise is waiting. — Mahalo, Ray Wolford. Kauai's North Shore retains Hawaii’s charm Hanalei, this tiny hamlet is truly a magical place. Coming here is like stepping back in time about 50 years. Your first glimpse of old Hawaii and Hanalei is from the Princeville overlook. The lush valley below still provides the staple food (taro/poi) for its people. My wife and I have Hanalei poi with our breakfast. The mystical cloud covered mountains and waterfalls are the backdrops for the valley. Famous for its sweeping vistas, Hanalei Bay is a sandy beach shaped like a crescent moon. It is a perfect walking beach. A little over a mile long it invites you to explore and to refresh your feet in its water. At each end of the bay there is a river, the Hanalei and the Wai’oli (chanting or singing water) rivers. There is warmth to this place that is hard to describe. Maybe it is easier to say, “the Aloha spirit”. Mahalo Nui Loa.
